With “G.I. Joe: Retaliation” hitting theaters this Friday with more Channing Tatum added, that leaves the Brad Pitt-starring zombie-disaster film “World War Z” as the last of Paramount’s troubled productions that had been pushed back from last year. With “World War Z”‘s summer release date lumbering ever closer, the studio has released a new poster for the film.
A new trailer leaked over the weekend and is now officially available in HD, and while it’s still CG-action heavy, there’s more of a sense of the movie’s plot and scope, which makes it seem like “All The President’s Men” with set-pieces. And in case you haven’t gotten your swarming-CG-horde fix, Paramount has released this new one-sheet that remakes one of the trailer’s moneyshots: a huge crowd of zombies climbing on top of each other like ants.
It’s the type of image that we’re sure would be more iconic if it were done the old-fashioned way through paint and canvas, but it’s still one of the more impressive bits of marketing we’ve seen from the film, and certainly an improvement on the teaser. Check it out, along with the trailer, below. [THR]
