At eighty years old, Woody Allen is working at the speed of a filmmaker a third of his age. On top of releasing “Café Society” this summer, and gearing up his next feature film to shoot this fall, the director shot an Amazon series this past spring, and is set to release it next month.
Titled “Crisis In Six Scenes,” Allen, wrote, directed and stars in the show, with Miley Cyrus, Elaine May, Rachel Brosnahan, John Magaro, Michael Rapaport, Margaret Ladd, David Harbour, Joy Behar, Christine Ebersole, Becky Ann Baker, Lewis Black and Rebecca Schull among the players in the 1960s-set series that sees a suburban family dealing with the social upheaval around them. Or, in the case of this teaser, ignoring it as they go for a haircut. Something tells me Miley Cyrus will be bringing the flower power of the era.
“Crisis In Six Scenes” debuts on Amazon Prime on September 30th.
Max Casella is in this and doesn’t even rate a mention in The Playlist’s article. Sheesh. Guy’s becoming a premier character actor.
