San Diego Comic Con is hovering on the horizon, waiting to drop no shortage of massive news for fanboys, and among the participants eager to stay on the good side of their audience is DC Films. The studio is currently basking in the glow of “Wonder Woman,” but soon those good vibes will fade, and they’ll have to prove themselves all over again. But this weekend at SDCC, they could have an announcement that will certainly keep comics fans happy.
THR cryptically reveals that “if all goes as planned,” a release date for the sequel to “Wonder Woman” will be announced. Certainly, there are two 2020 dates that just hit the calendar waiting for a movie to get attached to them, and “Wonder Woman 2” could be in the mix. We already know that director Patty Jenkins and DC chief Geoff Johns are working on the script (which might be set in the 1980s), and certainly, no one waits to wait too long for a followup to “Wonder Woman.” But I’d imagine there are contracts to negotiate and all that kind of dull stuff, before any formal announcement can be made, but I’m sure everyone involved are feverishly working the phones and trying to lock stuff down for the weekend.
“Wonder Woman” is now playing everywhere.
just PLEASE don’t rush the script WB…. make a good movie rather than a fast return to the screen. WW was a really good super-hero/action movie, keep the momentum going.
