As seen in the trailer for “Wolf,” the above premise is actually the plot of the film. In a world where there exist people who suffer from “species identity disorder,” a mental illness where they feel like they’re actually an animal and not a human, two such people fall in love while seeking treatment at a mental health facility. But you see, their love is ill-fated as wildcats and wolves just don’t mix.

The cast of the film includes George MacKay, Lily-Rose Depp, Paddy Considine, and Eileen Walsh. “Wolf” is written and directed by Nathalie Biancheri, who is probably best known for her feature debut, “Nocturnal,” which was released in 2019.

Here’s the synopsis:

Believing he is a wolf trapped in a human body, Jacob (George MacKay) eats, sleeps, and lives like a wolf – much to the shock of his family. When he’s sent to a clinic, Jacob and his animal-bound peers are forced to undergo increasingly extreme forms of ‘curative’ therapies. However once he meets the mysterious Wildcat (Lily-Rose Depp), and as their friendship blossoms into an undeniable infatuation, Jacob is faced with a challenge: will he renounce his true self for love.
