So it seems that Black Eyed Peas cheeseball Will I. Am is going to make his feature-length acting debut in the “X-Men Origins: Wolverine” film that’s being spun-off from the “X-Men” series.
You’d think after three movies Hugh Jackman would be sick of this hirsute and irritable character, but apparently he’s game for yet another Mcfranchise (this one could easily take on the life of three more films).
Also cast in the film are Ryan Reynolds as the villian Deadpool, “Friday Night Lights” cast-member Taylor Kitsch will play the card-throwing hero Gambit and rounding out the cast is Liev Schreiber (Victor Creed/Sabretooth), Danny Huston (Col. William Stryker) and Lynn Collins (Kayla Silver Fox).
Will I. Am will portray John Wraith a.k.a. Kestrel, a teleporting member of Team X, a mutant group that predates the X-Men (or at least in the original X-Men storyline he was; comics love to reinvent all the time – see Marvel Ultimates).
You say: “You’d think after three movies Hugh Jackman would be sick of this hirsute and irritable character…” Not to mention that in addition to that, it’s an absolute waste of one of the finest acting talents anywhere anytime. The waste of Jackman’s singing talent is not really relevant here, but that is true as well. Perhaps he’ll have made enough money with this movie that he can retire from this series and do something worthwhile.
I just read where Michael C. Hall (Six Feet Under, Dexter) was playing the younger Stryker. Is that old information?
Old info, yes.
