College life is no stranger to Will Ferrell. The funnyman relived his student life streaking through the quad in "Old School" but in this next picture, he won't be the one doing beer bongs.
New Line is snapping up the rights to Andrew Ferguson's memoir "Crazy U: One Dad's Crash Course In Getting His Kid Into College" to be turned into a starring vehicle for Ferrell. The book chronicles the author's journey in trying to get his soon into a top flight college, and takes the reader through the dizzying admissions process. From the SATs, to hiring an admissions consultant, to talking to high school counselors, Ferguson turned over every rock, and went down every path, in order to make sure his son got the best opportunity available to him. Frankly, that whole process is absurd and ripe for a comedic take (with a bit of drama too), so yeah, seems like a nice potential project for Ferrell.
No word yet on who will take on the script, but the project will be produced by Misher Films and Ferrell and Adam McKay's Gary Sanchez. Until then, let's take a step back in time and remember Ferrell's awesome debating skills from "Old School." [Deadline]
Sometimes Will Ferrel offers some serious dramedies which are not bad, like Stranger Than Fiction, or Everything Must Go, might be this one as well. Besides in every of them he was companied with an intelligent young actress including Maggie Gyllenhaal or Rebecca Hall.
