We suppose the plan by director Jonathan Liebesman is set to everyone’s expectations so low that however “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” turns out, anything will be better than its first impressions. With April O’Neill played by Megan Fox, and dudes we’ve never heard of cast as the four turtles — Alan Ritchson (Raphael), Pete Ploszek (Leonardo), Jeremy Howard (Donatello) and Noel Fisher (Michelangelo) — now there’s some more random casting.
Will Arnett has joined the live action/CGI hybrid movie in a “secret role.” Ohhhhh! We’re gonna stay up all night figuring this one out (that’s sarcasm, in case you missed it). We love Will Arnett, but surely he can be doing anything other than this? THR says the part he isn’t playing is that of Casey Jones. So maybe he’s going rogue as Shredder or perhaps he’s gonna surprise everyone by playing Splinter. The mind reels with the possibilities! Will we ever be able to contain our excitement and anticipation!?!?!
This is sort of beginning to sound like a train wreck, but maybe the script by Josh Appelbaum and André Nemec is amazing. Or maybe we should just expect the usual from Michael Bay‘s Plantinum Dunes. ‘TMNT’ spins on the half shell on June 6, 2014.
Just when I thought I couldn't be less interested in this disaster… I can't stand Will Arnett, so he fits right in.
