Got a Tip?

Who’s Your Favorite Kardashian? Find Out The Answer In Another ‘This Is 40’ Deleted Scene

nullWho’s your favorite Kardashian? That’s the question that drives yet another deleted scene from “This Is 40,” which features Maude Apatow’s Sadie having a conversation with love interest Joseph (played by Ryan Lee of "Super 8" fame) on her (KERCHING!) MacBook about everyone’s favorite reality television family. And, erm, yeah, it’s not hard to see why this didn’t make the grade. It’s really not at all funny out of context, and if your knowledge of the Kardashians is limited (which, thankfully, is the case for this writer) then the discussion and impressions will go over your head. If they don’t, then maybe you’ll think the scene is hilarious, and that might just be the case.

One thing that we think this clip does get across though is what a potentially great young comic actress Maude Apatow could yet prove to be. To date she’s only appeared in her dad’s three films (“Knocked Up,” “Funny People,” and “This is 40”) but she’s 15 years old now, recently showed up on Forbes’ 30 Under 30 list, and could potentially start to star in other projects at some point in the next few years. In fact, we’d love to see her pop up in “Girls” to begin with – and we think there’s a hint of Lena Dunham (who she told TeenVogue she really looks up to) in her performance in this deleted scene alone – before hopefully going on to prove herself in loads of other stuff too.

“This Is 40” has had a mixed reaction so far and hasn’t exactly stormed the box office, but it’s also got a lot of international territories to roll out to. It will make its bow in the UK on Valentine’s Day, where it will go head-to-head with “A Good Day to Die Hard.” That’s when this writer will be seeing the film, right after finishing Googling what a Kardashian is.

  1. I don't understand the point of all these deleted scenes. I don't understand the point of this movie. I used to love Judd's work but the dude has lost touch. It looks like a 40 million dollar home movie. Of course it's going to be shit at the box office. Not memorable at all.

And then they wonder why all the "mid budget level" drama / comedy etc has gone to TV or VOD or whatever.

And why do you keep covering this movie?

  3. I can't believe how many deleted scenes this film has. Ok actually I can cause the whole film seemed like a bunch of deleted scenes strung together.
