‘What We Do In The Shadows’ Season 3 Trailer: The Staten Island Vamps Return in September & Season 4 Greenlit

COVID-19 may have lasted for what feels like an eternity, but vampirism is forever. Fans of FX’s hit show “What We Do In The Shadows” may rejoice now: after an extended wait thanks to the now dwindling pandemic, an all-new season of their favorite vampires from Staten Island hits the network this Fall.

The FX show takes the mockumentary format of the 2014 cult-favorite movie by Jermaine Clement and Taika Waititi and revamps it to an episodic format. The show follows four centuries-old vampires on Staten Island as they navigate the perils of being a bloodsucker in modern society. Along the way, they must deal with their familiar, Guillermo, and the other supernatural beings in their midst.

Guillermo saved Nandor, Laszlo, Nadja, and Colin from a trap set for them by the Vampire Council in the previous season finale. Unfortunately, Guillermo revealed his status as a vampire killer in the process, so it’s likely that the show will pick up on the fallout from that big reveal. On top of that, the group also encounters a new power: the vampire from which all other vampires descended.

Matt Berry, Natasia Demetriou, Kayvan Novak, Mark Proksch, and Harvey Guillén return to reprise their starring roles for Season 3. Given the show’s penchant for tons of cameos–with the likes of Nick Kroll, Dave Bautista, Tilda Swinton, Wesley Snipes, and Evan Rachel Wood as guest stars–one would expect some surprising new faces to pop up this season too.

The new season follows the previous two’s ten-episode format, and the first two episodes of Season 3 premiere on FX on September 2. The new episodes will be available to stream on FX On Hulu the next day. Check out the trailer below, and good news, FX just announced the show has been renewed and greenlit for a fourth season.
