A little over a year ago, we reported that “Nous finirons ensemble” (“We’ll End Up Together“), the sequel to the French hit, “Little White Lies,” had just begun production with much of the same cast returning for the new film. Now, a year later, the film is hitting French cinemas and we finally have a trailer for filmmaker Guillaume Canet’s highly-anticipated follow-up.
For those not familiar with “Little White Lies,” the film follows a group of estranged friends that come together after one of their compadres was involved in a major accident. As you might guess, the friends come together and laughs, drama, and typical issues arise. The success of the first film hinged on the incredible cast that was brought together. And that’s what makes “We’ll End Up Together” so special.
The sequel has brought back everyone from the first film, plus a couple of newcomers, to tell the story of the same group of friends, coming back together after 7 years apart for a birthday party for Max. The cast includes Gilles Lellouche, Valérie Bonneton, François Cluzet, Marion Cotillard, Laurent Lafitte, Benoît Magimel, and Pascale Arbillot. Newcomers to the story include actors Clémentine Baert and José Garcia.
In addition to being a massive French film star, Canet is an accomplished filmmaker in his own right, having helmed projects like “Tell No One,” “Blood Ties,” and “Rock’N Roll.” He’s joined by his co-writer on the latter film, Rodolphe Lauga, on this new project.
“Nous finirons ensemble” (“We’ll End Up Together“) premiered last month in France, and has its European rollout throughout 2019. A US release has not been announced.
