Steven Soderbergh’s “The Girlfriend Experience” poster titillates visually and gives many design boners too (some say it looks dated, we say it’s still 90% better than most shitty movie posters), yes?
But you shouldn’t expect any onscreen sex from the film’s lead, Porn star Sasha Grey. Not that that’s hard to find, you can find her in many a log-jammin’ porn film with multiple partners, but if you’re expecting it in Soderbergh’s upcoming film, you should think again.
Grey recently talked to New York Magazine and she says the producers first contacted her through Myspace and she thought it was a joke.
“When I had the first meeting [with Soderbergh] assumed I would be naked and do a sex scene. Did I think I would do five, like in my adult work? No, but even up to the point where we were shooting, I thought there was going to be at least one sex scene.”
However, if you just want to see her naked and you’re too ashamed to rent porn, this might be your ticket. “The contract did say that I would be nude. But one of the clauses was [laughing] ‘You cannot have [real] sex.’ To me, that was a pretty funny legality,” she confessed.
The film hit OnDemand via Magnolia on April 30 and then hits theaters on May 22. It will also screen at the Tribeca Film Festival which runs April 22- May 3.
I will definitely be checking this out ON DEMAND, so long as it’s shown in HD format. Magnolia did that with Two Lovers, but the ON DEMAND version of Che that’s available in my area is only in regular format, so I will wait for the DVD on that film, even though I am beyond anxious to see it. Watching non-HD movies on an HD television is so annoying.
Oh, and this poster is so cool, so stylish, so sexy. She’s got a great mouth, regardless of how many diseases might be lurking around in there.
