It’s hard to believe, but at this time last year, Richard Linklater‘s "Boyhood" wasn’t even part of the Sundance Film Festival lineup. It was a late addition to the fest, and needless to say, it not only became the hottest ticket in Park City, but now, a year later, a big Oscar contender. It has to be said that, even following all the rave reviews last January, no one figured it would get this far. So give another hat tip to the film with these extensive interviews, which go deep into the making of the movie.
First up is a 45-minute talk at the SAG Foundation, which brought together Linklater, Ellar Coltrane, Ethan Hawke, and Patricia Arquette to reflect on the movie. Then Linklater goes long with Marc Maron, with a nearly 90-minute talk that undoubtedly gets into every topic under the sun. If you’re in a place that’s feeling the cold snap gripping the nation, this will probably provide some nice company as you stay in and keep warm.
