I’m going to Cannes next month, yet I’m also looking forward to “The Internship.” Such are the contradictions in life. Sometimes you just want to sit back and watch two old pros, and good pals, just get up on the big screen and riff and jazz with comic lines all over the place. Will it win any awards? Nope. Will it be a dumb movie with some enjoyable turns from Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson? Frankly, it it does that, it will meet my highest expectation.
The new trailer has arrived for “The Internship” and let’s face it — this is basically “Old School” in different clothing. Vaughn once again has to train a team of young kids, only this time they’re Google nerds, and they are all fighting for a job at the company, and Wilson is around to offer quips and help out. You either enjoy Vaughn being a loveable jackass or you don’t and if you do, there is enough amusing stuff in here to stay hopeful. That said, you might’ve thought the same thing about last year’s “The Watch” but whatever good there was in that, I can’t remember.
Mindless fun? Let’s hope. “The Internship” logs on June 7th. Watch below.
