While “The Grand Budapest Hotel,” “Nymphomaniac,” and “The Monuments Men” have largely taken the spotlight at the Berlin Film Festival, that’s not the only star power walking the red carpet. The thriller “The Two Faces Of January” is getting set to unspool and the first trailer is here for the sun baked thriller.
Viggo Mortensen, Kirsten Dunst, and Oscar Isaac star in the adaptation of Patricia Highsmith‘s novel. The story is set in 1962 and follows an elegant and beautiful American couple, vacationing in Greece, who get mixed up in a murder, and must rely on the assistance of a shady young tour guide. And as they flee from Greece to Turkey in the summer heat, tension rises and trust begins to erode. Directed by “Drive” writer Hossein Amini, this looks like an intriguing sun baked potboiler, with lots of beautiful people doing dangerous things.
No U.S. release date yet, but “The Two Faces Of January” opens in the UK on May 16th. Watch below. [Empire]
Yeah, I feel like I already know that there is possibly a twist, and I feel like I already know what that twist is. Trailer gives too much away.
Some of this reminds me of The Man Who Knew Too Much.
Def gotta see this! Viggo is back !
& Mr Hossein Amini is quickly becoming a mainstream talent I'm rooting for him. Extremely underlooked writer & now director IMO
What an awful trailer – it pretty much gives away the entire plot.
Which is a pity, as cast, source material etc make it seem interesting. But these trailers showing too much of the movie have to end.
