Just a couple of days after the UK trailer came tearing around the track, we now get a U.S. spot for Ron Howard‘s racing drama “Rush” along with some new pics for the movie that’s revving its engine pretty hard, pretty early. We’re still months away from the film arriving, but perhaps Universal realizes that racing movies probably need a bit of a harder push than other genres. Good thing that so far, it looks pretty rock solid.
Chris Hemsworth and Daniel Bruhl lead the picture as rivals, English racer James Hunt and Austrian Niki Lauda, respectively. The ’70s-set story will tell a tale centered around Lauda’s near fatal crash when his Ferrari swerved off the track in only the second lap of the German Grand Prix, with Hunt going on to win the race. Six weeks later, Lauda was back behind the wheel chasing Hunt at the Italian Grand Prix. This new U.S. trailer is longer, with more footage, and fleshes out the two characters a bit more, giving audiences a context with which to come into the drama. And it still works pretty well, with Howard looking to have a keen hand on the material and delivering another riveting true tale.
Olivia Wilde and “Control” actress Alexandra Maria Lara lead the supporting cast. “Rush” gets into pole position on September 20th.
Wow. I'm surprised at the R rating for a film I would imagine the studio would want everyone to see. Does Sexuality and nudity really need to be a part of this story? This is reminiscent of Flight getting the R rating for its unneeded full frontal. I'm not bitching because personally I like R rated movies but from Zemekis and Howard it seems strange.
it looks good, but i was hoping for it to be more colourful and lively, it's so moody
Looks good. I guess we'll find out if Hemsworth can actually act in this movie
Yahoo trailers are the worst.
I'm scared because of Wilde, she's box office poison!
i'm gonna see it just for daniel bruhl, but looks very stereotypical
This is something I would love to see. But I wish you didnt give so much of the story away in the preview. Even if this was a story based on true events or not. Less is more. … I'm still gonna see it though.
