Next month, Tom Hardy and a puppy will come together for the running time of a feature-length film called "The Drop." And that’s fine. But around The Playlist offices, this movie is known as the "Tom Hardy Puppy Party," and new clip has arrived showing just what his character is up against in the dramatic thriller.
Co-starring James Gandolfini, Matthias Schoenaerts and Noomi Rapace, the movie follows a Brooklyn bartender who gets mixed up in the wrong crowd, with an abused pit bull puppy falling into his arms. As you’ll see in this clip, he becomes quite attached to the canine, even if it will cost him dearly, financially and otherwise.
"Tom Hardy Puppy Party" opens on September 12th and will premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival. Michael Roskam ("Bullhead") directs. [Vulture]
That Hardy-stare; grrrr!
This scene looks intense, makes me curious about what's going on…
Looks good to me. Tom's a great actor who's able to portray any kind of character. Matthias Schoenaerts is delivering too. I'm looking forward to the Drop in the theater!
Matthias Schoenaerts's accent sounds great in that. I feel like it's pretty rare that a Belgian (or French) actor can pull off an American accent like that. I certainly can't think of many. Impressive.
