There are few directors who could get Christian Bale, Cate Blanchett, Natalie Portman, Brian Dennehy, Antonio Banderas, Wes Bentley, Isabel Lucas, Teresa Palmer, Armin Mueller-Stahl, Freida Pinto, Cherry Jones, Joe Manganiello, Haley Bennett, Imogen Poots, Ryan O’Neal, Joel Kinnaman, Jason Clarke, Shea Whigham, Jocelin Donahue, Sergey Bodrov, Nick Offerman and Ben Kingsley, into the same movie, but then again, there are few directors like Terrence Malick. And his upcoming "Knight Of Cups" is just over the horizon and a few more peeks at the picture have been revealed.
ComingSoon has a new batch of photos, along with a couple of new promo videos of Broad Green Pictures, which tease the ethereal picture, about one man’s searching for meaning in Hollywood. Here’s the official synopsis:
Knight of Cups follows Rick (Christian Bale), an uninspired screenwriter living on the event horizon of all the vice, and some of the virtues, Los Angeles has to offer. He is a slave to the Hollywood system; addicted to success but simultaneously despairing at the emptiness of his life. With the death of his brother Billy hanging over him, and his surviving, down-on-his-luck brother, Rick seeks distraction in the company of women. Women seem to know him better than he knows himself, bringing him closer to the heart of things, closer to understanding his place. And while the parties, the dalliances, and the career remain unfulfilling — each woman, each man he’s met through the course of his life has served him in some way as a guide, a messenger. This visceral journey through one man’s City of Angels has just begun.
"Knight Of Cups" opens on March 4th.
I enjoy his films but how many more characters is he going to have walk on a beach?
Kevin and Stephen: no. Simply no.
I love Malick, the people who dont can go back to calling "deadpool" clever, lol
_To the Wonder_ is the second best film of the decade — behind only _The Tree of Life_.
Is there a single working director this side if Cimino who has lost his luster more so than Malick? To the Wonder was awful and this one, while a better film, still suffers from lack of dialogue and piir character arcs.
C\’mon IndieWire. No sense in pretending a 1080 version of this movie hasn\’t been out for like a month and a half now in torrent form. Lets all pretend that we\’ll watch the trailer in anticipation for this movie.
