Watch: ‘The Wolfpack’ Brothers Visit The Criterion Collection

The WolfpackOne of the most discussed documentaries of the year is Crystal Moselle’s “The Wolfpack,” a tender portrait of the isolated Angulo family that was kept indoors by a domineering father. The six brothers – the seventh and youngest sibling, a sister, was largely kept offscreen in the film and has not been in the public eye in the aftermath – coped with the isolation by watching an extraordinary amount of movies and recreating some of their favorites in a way that would make Michel Gondry proud. And so, it makes perfect sense that these budding and now-famous cinephiles were invited to The Criterion Collection’s hallowed closet to pick out some of their favorite movies.

Whether you know them through Moselle’s heartbreaking and heartwarming film or last month’s "20/20" special, or not at all, the sheer joy with which the Angulo brothers – Mukunda, Narayana, Govinda, Bhagavan, Krisna (now Glenn) and Jagadesh (now Eddie) – start raiding the famous Criterion closet after being told they can take their picks home is infectious. Who among us wouldn’t have that kid-in-a-candy-shop look on our faces as we browse the shelves looking for the next great addition to our collection?

Watch the happiest edition of Criterion’s DVD Picks series ever, below. “The Wolfpack” is in select theaters now.
