Watch: The 5 Highlights Of The 2013 Golden Globe Awards

nullIt's a good morning to be a Los Angeles pharmacist, as, Hollywood is just this moment waking up with their worst hangover of the year. Yep, it's the morning after the Golden Globes, and what the Hollywood Foreign Press Association lacks in respect or prestige, it makes up for in free-flowing booze and raucous partying. And so long as you don't take it too seriously, it can make for pretty entertaining viewing, something proven last night.

With Amy Poehler & Tina Fey hosting, and doing one of the best jobs at such a thing in recent memory (the question is, can the Academy suck it up and steal them over in future years?), there were plenty of laughs, but there were also tears, in part thanks to Jodie Foster's acceptance of the Cecil B. DeMille lifetime achievement award, an occasion she used to come out publicly for the first time in a heartfelt and touching speech.

It may not mean much in the context of the awards season (we'd argue that Christoph Waltz and Jennifer Lawrence got minor bumps, but not much beyond that), but there were plenty of highlights, and you can watch our 5 favorites below.

  1. Biggest WTF moment was Lena Dunham walking up the stage like she had a 10-inch buttplug in her. I know her dress was long but that was a total "recently assfucked" walk.

  2. I loved Anne Hathaway's speech- especially her praises to Sally Field. That was easily the best speech of the night. Hathaway may be the most intelligent and the most articulate young A-list actress in Hollywood. My second best speech was Kevin Costner- mature and soulful. Jodie Foster rambled too much with her speech, but the end of her speech was very moving.

  3. "AND YOUUU GET OUUUTTA HEEEEERRREEE!!!"… Best part of the night is them making fun of award shows in their own subtle way. I'm still on the fence about the Jodie foster speech, though

  4. I agree that Tina and Amy were funny — that James Cameron joke was freaking hilarious! I like Jennifer Lawrence a lot, but I cringed when the first words out of her mouth were "I beat Meryl" — that was tacky, even as a joke. The rest of her speech was good, though. Jessica Chastain had a great speech, especially her words about Kathryn Bigelow. I enjoyed Kevin Costner's speech too — it was shockingly sentimental. Lena Dunham's shout-out to Chad Lowe was very clever. All in all, it was a great ceremony — enjoyed it!
