So this is happening, and I guess you better just just deal with it. The story of “Bonnie & Clyde,” immortalized in Arthur Penn‘s iconic 1967 film, is now being told again by Bruce Beresford (“Peace, Love & Misunderstanding,” “Mao’s Last Dancer” and “The Contract“) with Emile Hirsch and Holliday Grainger as the outlaws. The results?
Well, see for yourself below. A two-part, miniseries production between A&E, Lifetime and History, the budget looks certainly small screen—HBO this isn’t. And really, it doesn’t make much of a case for standing on its own outside of the movie we already know. That being said, we like the leads, and with Holly Hunter and William Hurt in support, we suppose this might get a watch out of morbid curiosity from our end.

CONTRARIAN doesn't have a clue about cinematography or what Bonnie and Clyde looks like. Yet some people think they're authorities. Wantabees can pretend they know something.
Believe it or not, Bonnie was always worried about her appearance and made every effort to dress nice as did Clyde. They would leave their clothes at a tailor and come back through and get them if they were able to, if not they would get new ones. Yes they did a lot of camping and living out of their car, but at the time there motor courts all over the South and they stayed there also. It was nothing for Clyde to drive 1000 miles in 24 hrs, so they were usually long gone from the locals and at that time Police counldn't cross state lines. I am not sure if I will watch or not because the pic at the top shows Bonnie holding a weapon during a robbery. Every member of the gang that was present at one time or another all swore that Bonnie never fired a shot, nor accompanied Clyde, W.D. Jones, Henry Methvin or any of the others inside a store they robbed. And for the record they robbed one bank, but every bank job or whatever else that happened in the South between 1932 and 1934 was attributed to them.
Bonnie and Clyde spent most of their time camping out and living out of a car. I doubt very much bonnie would have all that make up on and be dressed like she is going out to dinner in an expansive New York restaurant. This trailer has them dressed like new York mafia which is ridicules and very unlikely.
This trailer doesn't do a very good job of selling this mini-series. Hopefully another trailer gets cut before the marketing really finds purchase.

Love that those are the films you list as representative of Bruce Beresford, considering he also helmed such Oscar-nominated films as "Breaker Morant," "Tender Mercies" and, lest we forget, "Driving Miss Daisy."
I love the cast, so I know I'll be watching this!
