Last night, a game was played, and a team won and a team lost, and Seattle seemed to be super happy for some reason. But for our purposes, the Super Bowl means lot of new trailers (including “The Amazing Spider-Man 2,” “Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” and the first teaser for “Transformers: Age Of Extinction” among others) and of course, lots of celeb talent getting paid big bucks to sell things. So, clear away the bones from last night’s chicken wings and check out the clips below.
First up, David Gordon Green got behind the camera for Maserati, directing a spot that looks like a hybrid between the lyricism of Terrence Malick and the magical realism of “Beasts Of The Southern Wild.” And speaking of the latter, Quvenzhane Wallis stars.
Nicolas Winding Refn turned David Beckham into a running, jumping action star for H&M.Jerry Seinfeld got the gang back together — kind of — unveiling the rumored “Seinfeld” reunion. In fact, it was an episode of his online series “Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee,” that found the comic reprising his turn as “Jerry” opposite Jason Alexander‘s George, with the Super Bowl spot leading viewers to a full mini-episode entitled “The Over-Cheer.” Both the game day ad and episode below. From Crackle: George Costanza: The Over-CheerOf course James Franco did a Super Bowl ad, teaming with/becoming Rob Riggle to sell Ford Fusion cars.
Lastly, The Inspiration Room points us a series of Audi spots directed by Noam Murro (“300: Rise Of An Empire“). They feature dogs and Sarah McLachlan.
That David Gordon Green Maserati commercial is insufferable.
