Got a Tip?

Watch: Spanish Language Trailer For ‘Everyone Has A Plan’ Starring Viggo Mortensen

nullViggo Mortensen chooses his roles carefully and selectively. Before last year's "A Dangerous Method," he hadn't been seen on screen since 2009's "The Road." And indeed, we're not going to see to much of him in 2012. While his performance in Walter Salles' "On The Road" is strong, it's also quite brief, but fans of the actor will be delighted to know, his next effort will have them seeing double.

Mortensen stars in the Argentinian film "Everyone Has A Plan," and the first trailer for the thriller has now arrived and no, you're not hallucinating: he's playing dual roles in the movie. Directed by Ana Piterbarg, from her script that won the Julio Alejandro Screenplay Award at the 2008 Malaga Film Festival, the film tells the story of a man desperate to abandon his unfulfilling existence after years of living in Buenos Aires. Following the death of his identical twin brother Pedro, Agustín sets out to begin his life anew, by assuming Pedro’s identity and returning to the mysterious Tigre Delta region, a maze of islands and rivers that once served as a recreational playground for the Buenos Aires elite, but is now a refuge for Argentina's outcasts and criminals. But as you'll see in the trailer, things go awry.

Our Spanish is not great/nonexistent, so we'll leave it to you guys to tell us what's going on and what your thoughts are. But two Viggos (speaking Spanish at that) are always better than one in our books. The film hits theaters in Argentina on August 30th and will open internationally via 20th Century Fox. No word yet on a stateside release. [Awards Daily]

  1. Boring. As usual. Anything with Viggo Mortensen is boring (except for LOTR). I guess that is why the directors ask him to take his clothes off so often. No matter what accent he puts on, he plays the same role. BORING.

  2. OK. Let's do this. POSSIBLE SPOILERS.

Viggo plays a pediatrician, who's tired of his routine and marriage. His twin brother, a bum and criminal comes to his apartment. They haven't see each other in a long time and propose him to change identities, in order to get some money. The pediatrician assumes his brother 's life, travelling to a river community where there's work of bee-keeping. Locals aresurprised that (the twin) is alive. Then the pediatrician's wife comes and tells him that her husband (place taken by the twin) is dead. Looks like then hell will break loose.

Looks good, pretty atmospheric. Certain film noir elements with thriller plot. I'm interested.

Viggo's spanish is not just flawless, he nails the Argentinian accent perfectly. Given the fact that he grew up there and he's still goes there. He's the biggest San Lorenzo de Almagro fan.
