As usual, every year when the Super Bowl comes around, the ads that air during the big game wind up becoming one of the bigger talking points with everybody the next day. A recent trend for some of these advertisers lately has been airing commercials that tease their upcoming commercials that will air during the Super Bowl. Yes, commercials teasing about future commercials, what a concept. Samsung has decided to join in on this trend, but at least their teaser is amusing and features Seth Rogen, Paul Rudd, and Bob Odenkirk.
In the teaser, Rogen and Rudd are brought in to pitch their idea to Odenkirk for Samsung’s upcoming Super Bowl ad, but they soon realize that there are certain things you just cannot say in a Super Bowl commercial. The actual ad that will air on Sunday has been directed by Jon Favreau, will run two minutes long, and it will go live during the fourth quarter.
It’s always fun to see veteran comedian Odenkirk play yet another slimy executive even if it’s just for a one minute teaser ad. Otherwise, we’ll just have to wait and see what Samsung has cooked up for us this Sunday. Be sure to check out the teaser below. [AdRants]
Teasers for commercials have been there for decades. So its not a new concept.
