In the span of about five months, audiences are going to see Melissa McCarthy, no holds barred, in three different films: starting this weekend in a memorable appearance in Judd Apatow's "This Is 40," in February in the road trip throwdown "Identity Thief" with Jason Bateman and then in the spring with Sandra Bullock in "The Heat." Is it too much?
Well, she's certainly found her niche, playing larger than life and foul-mouthed down to a science and she's scattin' and beboppin' all over the place here. She provides the film's edge, playing the rougher half of the odd couple cop pairing with Bullock in the movie about…well, it's about something, we just haven't figured it out yet. But hey! There's Demian Bichir! But really, the latest from "Bridesmaids" helmer Paul Feig looks like a loose concept that's really just there to let the leads have fun, and it looks like they went all the way.
A female fronted cop comedy certainly looks promising, but thus far it seems to be playing by the standard conventions. However, we'd be lying if this red band spot didn't make us laugh. "The Heat" is on the street on April 5, 2013.
How the fuck do girls like Sandra Bullock stay so consistently hot their whole life?
melissa mccarthy isn't funny at all. I hate her guts.
Melissa McCarthy needs to stop type-casting herself in these annoying roles. It is not funny anymore.
THIS SEEMS HILARIOUS!!! I MEAN, LOOK AT THESE GIRLS! HAHHAHAA LOVE IT!!!
This looks funny.
DeNiro has really let himself go. But Pacino looks great as always.
