Got a Tip?

Watch: Ryan Gosling, Carey Mulligan & Bryan Cranston In New Clip From Nicolas Winding Refn’s ‘Drive’

Plus A Ton Of New Images From The Film

We’re only a few days for the Cannes premiere of Nicolas Winding Refn‘s “Drive,” easily one of our most anticipated films of the year, and we can barely contain ourselves: in fact, we’ve built a cardboard car in the center of The Playlist office and are currently sitting in it with a full-sized body pillow of Oscar Isaac. Fortunately, a healthier way of passing the time before the film arrives at the festival on Thursday has arrived, with Rope of Silicon debuting a new two-minute clip from the film.

We’ve already seen one snippet from the very beginning of the film, but this one’s very different, with the first glimpses of Carey Mulligan and Bryan Cranston‘s characters and a much warmer, sunnier vibe, suggesting that the film is more than the minimalist thriller that the first clip implied. Still looks great though. There’s also a glimpse at a cut from the soundtrack: the song “A Real Hero” by French dance artist College, ft. Electric Youth (listen to the whole thing below). Neat, huh? The site also has a bunch of images from the film, some we’ve seen before, some of which are new: check them, and the clip, out after the jump. And for those not currently in the South of France, “Drive” hits theaters on September 16th.

  1. Hendricks is so beautiful. I literally stopped on her pic to stare at her beautiful face. Of course I did the same with Young Hercules, but that is neither here nor there, merely observing Playlist custom.

  2. i have the same exact thing! a full-sized body pillow of Oscar Isaac…working on the cardboard car-lol!

im finally getting some good new images for my Oscar Isaac blog thanks to you! fuckyeahoscarisaac.tumblr.com

  3. Wait, Albert Brooks is in this? Now I\’m even more intrigued, I don\’t believe I\’ve seen him in a serious movie before (\’cept Taxi Driver, but he wasn\’t serious in that)

  4. Nice clip. Still has a sort of surreal, otherworldly feel to it. The track at the end is reminiscent of some of the \’80s techno cuts on Bronson\’s soundtrack.

And yes, I\’d like a piece of cake and a pat on the head if you\’re offering.
