Ever since the smash success of “Bridesmaids,” more ensemble female-driven comedies have been greenlit in an effort to duplicate that hit. This year we’ve already had “How To Be Single,” and this summer comes “Bad Moms.”
Starring Mila Kunis, Kristen Bell, Kathryn Hahn, Christina Applegate, Jada Pinkett Smith and Annie Mumolo, and written and directed by Jon Lucas & Scott Moore (“The Hangover,” “21 and Over“), the story revolves around some alpha Moms who push some regular Moms to the brink, and war ensues. Here’s the synopsis:
In the film, Amy Mitchell (Kunis) puts her family first, second, and third. But her man-child husband, high-maintenance kids and idiot boss are taking a toll. When the alpha moms (Applegate, Mumolo, and Smith) at her kids’ school push her too far, Amy finally snaps. Good Amy becomes Bad Amy really fast and she doesn’t go it alone. Teaming up with two other misfit moms (Hahn and Bell), Amy gets a jolt of freedom that shakes up her life and might even make her a better mom.
“Bad Moms” opens on July 29th. Red band trailer up top, green band below.
