Ridley Scott’s “The Martian” was recently pushed up a couple of weeks for an October release date and will mark the third time Scott has ventured into space. His previous two interstellar sojourns, “Alien” and “Prometheus,” couldn’t be further apart, critically. One’s a stone-cold classic and the other’s legendary status is definitely less than a sure thing. However, Job Willins has attempted to join Scott’s two xenomorph-featuring films together to make an entirely new film: “Derelict.”

Running nearly two-and-a-half hours, Willins has cut the two films together for a black-and-white version where “Prometheus” has 30 minutes swapped for an hour of “Alien” footage. It’s an interesting look at an alternate timeline where the two films and storylines could have been played as echoes or reflections of each other in the same film.
It’s the weekend, so carve out some time and watch “Derelict” below. Maybe after – or even before – you can do a double feature of “Alien” and “Prometheus” to see how Willins’ cut fares against the originals. [AV Club]
what, an irresponsible person you are, if, you are in fact, why do you try to destroy everyrhing in your path?, are you really happy with that?, so, your mission in earth is to make everybody else unhappy, or not?, Ithink that you need help, really, to stop your anger about the whole human race
Stupid idea from people who wet their pants
not the same, my friend, I assure you. Properly graded BW is tasty.
Yeah, next they should have some sort of "Colorationizer" control on tvs that could potentially make ANY film or television show black and white.
I\’d love to see a resurgence in black-and-white filmmaking on a grand scale.
Or, at the very least, BW versions released as blu-ray extras (which supposedly they\’re doing with the Mad Max home release)…
