In the next six weeks, Warner Bros. will be dropping two of their big summer hopefuls, and they are doing everything in their power to make sure you go to see them. Thus, the sun rises, the sun falls, and wheels of the marketing machine continue to spin forever…
First up, another featurette has landed for “Pacific Rim,” this time giving you a closer glimpse at the robots. But all you really need to know is that Guillermo del Toro is promising that the action here is going to the thrill the 11-year-old inside everyone….well, everyone who at 11 years old was playing with toy robots. Meanwhile, yet another TV spot has dropped for “Man Of Steel” with 30 seconds of emotions and explosions and emotional explosions.
“Man Of Steel” hits on June 14th, “Pacific Rim” on July 12th and you’ll need 3D glasses for both.
Oh man, I soooo want to like PACIFIC RIM, because every time Guillermo talks about it, I find myself nodding along and going: "Yeah, exactly… spot on!" yet every time I see actual footage, it just feels like a vague, underlit CGI-fest at best, a distant cousin to Shark-Boy & Lava Girl at worst.
I really hope it turns out to be good.
That Pacific Rim set is pretty cool actually. It's kinda refreshing to see real sets in a giant robot blockbuster.
