J.J. Abrams is working on another disaster project. This time the mayhem will be the result of an earthquake, not an angry alien/sea creature, and guess what?? He is keeping all the details totally secret, except that he has hired “Omen” scribe David Seltzer to pen the script. Gee, we never woulda figured.
If we had to guess, this movie will focus on four annoying yuppies caught in the midst of a freak earthquake, and the story will be told through their classified video footage from the event. Maybe they will be caught in the maze-like Fifth Avenues apartment that Abrams optioned earlier this summer, and be forced to use their wits to escaped the confusing digs before the quake causes the building to collapse. But it looks like we won’t find out for some time, as Abrams is still finishing up his directorial duties on “Star Trek” for its May 2009 release date. Which is too bad, because that just means there is going to be globs of secret leaks released via viral marketing between now and the release date.
We kinda want this guy to go away, seriously.
