There are certainly many film heavyweights you might expect to see on the Cannes Film Festival red carpet, but John C. Reilly isn’t one of them. Yet this is set to change this year. With roles in both Yorgos Lanthimos‘ "The Lobster" and Matteo Garrone‘s "The Tale Of Tales," the actor’s presence will be felt, and a new trailer for the latter has arrived.
The picture, which also features Salma Hayek, Vincent Cassel, Toby Jones, Stacy Martin, Alba Rohrwacher and Massimo Ceccherini, is a loose screen adaptation of fairy tales by Italian poet Giambattista Basile. And this new, mostly dialogue free look promises a visual feast if nothing else, and we’re very excited to hear Alexandre Desplat‘s complete score.
The film opens in Italy on May 15th. There’s no U.S. distributor yet, but once reaction from Cannes rolls in, that’s likely to change. Watch below, and you are warned if you’re watching this at work: there’s some nudity.
are you kidding me with the opening line of this article? reilly is always doing prestige/"art" movies. pta, we need to talk about kevin etc. if anything say salma hayek or toby jones. or just announce the cast without some kind of silly teaser. wouldn\’t expect reilly to be in a french movie maybe?
