The Cannes Film Festival kicks off with some style tomorrow with Olivier Dahan‘s “Grace Of Monaco” walking the red carpet to the open movie (whether or not Harvey Weinstein will be there remains to be seen, but most likely). And if you can’t attend, here’s two clips from the movie to give you a taste of the glamour.
Starring Nicole Kidman, the actress plays the legendary Grace Kelly, with the film following her post-Hollywood gig as the husband to Prince Rainier of Monaco. Her marriage finds her rubbing shoulders with some powerful people, and in these clips, you’ll see her talk to shipping magnate Aristotle Onassis. But her fans never forgot Kelly either, and went to catch a glimpse of her wherever she appeared. But don’t expect too much flashy showbiz stuff in this movie. One of Weinstein’s bones of contention was that the film wasn’t glitzy enough, and too focused on political intrigue. Guess we’ll soon find out if he’s right.
“Grace Of Monaco” screens at Cannes tomorrow. No U.S. release date has been set just yet.
@Kristapley … Just had "Grace of Monaco" described to me as a "trainwreck."
Cringeworthy. Kidman's accent is wildly inconsistent. Believability factor is zero.
Looks like a winner!
Nicole is incredible beautiful and a superb actress!
