Got a Tip?

Watch: Nicholas Hoult His The Road In First Trailer For ‘Collide’ With Felicity Jones And Anthony Hopkins

CollideIt’s not clear when we’ll get to see "Collide" —formerly known as "Autobahn"— as it’s one of those movies caught up in Relativity‘s bankruptcy woes, but one thing is clear: this hardly looks like a movie that would’ve been a financial boon. The first teaser for the movie is here, so you better buckle up.

Eran Creevy ("Welcome To The Punch") directs this movie about a young man on the run from a mob boss, while….does it matter? We’ve seen the variation on this story a million times before. Anthony Hopkins shows up take his Hannibal Lecter-esque persona for yet another spin, Ben Kingsley is similarly slumming, and the immensely talented Felicity Jones should’ve chosen better. And leading it all the way is Nicholas Hoult.

Here’s the official synopsis:  After a heist goes terribly wrong, Casey Stein (Hoult) finds himself on the run from a ruthless gang headed by mob boss Hagen (Hopkins). Now Casey has precious cargo that belongs to Hagen, who will stop at nothing to retrieve it. Left with no choice, Casey calls his former employer and drug smuggler Geran (Kingsley) to protect his long-time girlfriend Juliette (Jones) before Hagen gets his hands on her. Casey sets out on an adrenaline-fueled car chase on the German highways to save the love of his life.

"Collide" will open in the U.S. via Open Road on April 1 2016. Watch below. [Vlicious]

  1. Look at that poster! Look at those randomly flying cars in that poster! Look at that weirdly disproportional case! Love it!

I mean, it looks bad. Like the next "Getaway," the Ethan Hawke/Selena Gomez one. But as someone who lived in Germany for almost ten years I must say that I kinda want to see it. It\’s Cobra 11 – The Movie.

  2. Nick Hoult getting cast in anything is a mystery to me. He doesn\’t have the charisma to be a leading man. You need to be more than just tall with a British accent. Hoult, Max Irons, Theo James, Liam Hemsworth, Sam Clafin–none of them have had any kind of breakout success or done any outstanding work, and yet they still keep getting cast in film after film. It\’s a sad commentary on the film industry today that being passably good looking is enough to have a viable film career. Hoult also reminds me of Garrett Hedlund, who has been given chance after chance and still is not happening.
