Watch: New Trailer For ‘The Raid 2’ Arrives Just In Time To Punch & Kick Before Its Sundance World Premiere

The Raid 2

So far, at least for The Playlist, most of the Sundance experience has centered around bracing, emotionally resonant dramas and documentaries, or the occasional comedy, with one film after another offering the cinematic meals we usually like to go for. But sometimes you gotta blow off some steam, and tomorrow in Park City, many will be ready to sit back and watch a bunch of people get the shit kicked out of them.

A new trailer has arrived for “The Raid 2,” with more from Gareth Evans‘ highly anticipated kick and punch fest, but this isn’t the only project he’s schlepping into Sundance. Yesterday, Radius and The Weinstein Company announced they had snatched up the U.S. rights to “The Night Comes For Us,” the latest collaboration between Evans and Timo Tjahjanto. The former will produce and handle the action direction, and the latter will direct the thriller (which also has “The Raid” star Iko Uwais lined up do action choreography) that follows a mobster (Taslim) who returns to his local crime family in Jakarta only to find himself trapped in a world of betrayal and chaos. We presume he’ll have to crack some skulls to get results.

But until that movie arrives in 2015, here’s your look at “The Raid 2” which opens on March 28th. Watch below.
