One of the handful of films to come out of the Sundance Film Festival with some major buzz this year, was director Rick Famuyiwa‘s ("The Wood," "Brown Sugar," "Our Family Wedding") "Dope." Nominated for a Grand Jury prize and taking home an Editing Award, audiences couldn’t stop talking about the energetic, hip hop fueled flick. And today comes a brand new trailer for the movie you’ll want to keep an eye out for this spring.
Starring Shameik Moore, "The Grand Budapest Hotel" star Tony Revolori, Kiersey Clemons, Blake Anderson, Zoë Kravitz and rapper A$AP Rocky, the sprawling crime-comedy follows a trio of teens living in The Bottoms in Inglewood, California, who get mixed up with drug dealers and have to set things right to stay out of serious trouble. It’s a ball of fun, and a movie our critic called "something very close to a new classic."
"Dope" opens on June 19th.
