There will be a variety of ways to get scared this Halloween, but Universal is keeping it classic by using everyone’s favorite parlor game to tell a new horror tale. Yes, ouija boards are the conceit of a movie called —wait for it—"Ouija." The time honored method by which one contacts dead relatives and acquaintances is used here to deliver what looks like a pretty by the numbers story.
Longtime Stan Winston Studio production coordinator Stiles White makes the leap to the director’s chair, co-writing and helming a film following a bunch of teens trying to summon a spirit and who of course get more than they bargained for. Again, nothing much being reinvented here, but there seems to be a consistent audience for this kind of stuff, so this will probably do just fine.
"Ouija" arrives on October 24th. Watch below.
