If you made a Venn diagram with one circle representing HBO‘s programming of shows about the travails of middle adult life, and the other signifying the potent blend of comedy and drama of Mark and Jay Duplass, then you might just get "Togetherness." It’s the latest series headed to the premium channel, and a new trailer has arrived.
Featuring an ensemble that includes Melanie Lynskey, Amanda Peet, Joshua Leonard and Mark Duplass (who co-directed, and co-wrote the entire series with his bro), the show centers on two sisters — and their respective partners — who find themselves living under the same roof. And out of this simple premise is spun a story about relationships, sex, expectations, and the crushing malaise of middle age. It looks well observed, with a good heart and edgy spark, so mark this one down as one to watch.
"Togetherness" debuts on January 11th. Watch below.
