Watch: New International ‘Gangster Squad’ Trailer & New Photos

nullWhich do you want first, the good news or the bad news? Let's start with the bad first. The new international trailer for Warner Bros.' "Gangster Squad" has arrived and it is an entire minute shorter than the two and a half minute original trailer and offers almost zero new footage, but hey, it's "new." The good news however, is that Empire Magazine has some fresh photos from the film, which you can see below.

While this writer is still puzzled as to why Ryan Gosling has taken a Kermit The Frog-like approach to his voice in this L.A. cop-noir, and has already expressed worries about the Zack Snyder-like speed-ramping in the early trailer, still pretty damn curious how this drama will turn out. At the very least, it has a superb cast.

Directed by Ruben Fleischer ("Zombieland," "30 Minutes Or Less") "Gangster Squad" centers on an elite LAPD unit assigned with taking down mobster Mickey Cohen in the 1940s. The all-star cast features Josh Brolin, the aforementioned Gosling, Nick Nolte, Robert Patrick, Michael Peña, Giovanni Ribisi, Anthony Mackie, Emma Stone and Sean Penn as gangster Cohen. The film arrives in theaters on September 7th and that means it'll be likely set for a day-early premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 6th. [via Empire]

  1. With Warner Bros. changing the release date twice and then deciding to dump it in an early September weekend, isn't it obvious that it's not that good? And LOL at Empire magazine calling it the new Untouchables. Bunch of morons as usual.

Plus, it's gotten to the point where I can't stand to look at either Gosling or Stone anymore. Just go away for a year please. OVEREXPOSED.
