Nash Edgerton is a man of many hats. A stuntman and coordinator of some reknown who has worked on everything from "The Matrix" trilogy to "The Thin Red Line" to "Moulin Rouge!", he's also a filmmaker, likely best known for the thriller "The Square" but also earned strong notices for his recent short, "Bear." But it appears he has a friend in Bob Dylan as well. Little did we know, but he's directed two videos for the legend already, "Must Be Santa Claus" and "Beyond Here Lies Nothin,' " and now a third has arrived.
"Duquesne Whistle" is the single off Dylan's zillionth upcoming album, and the video boasts an interesting premise. Riffing on every "(500) Days of Summer"-esque meet-cute you've ever seen, Edgerton takes it to a dark and funny place where one young man's obsession with a (very) beautiful young woman has some rather violent consequeces. And oh hey, there's Nash's bro Joel Edgerton popping up to give a beating to the protagonist who is clearly not having a good day. But the highlight for us? The intercut footage of Dylan just walking around with a random badass crew having his back — fuck, we'd pay good money to see that movie.
