Steve JobsDanny Boyle’s “Steve Jobs” heads into limited release this weekend, where its riding high off strong buzz from its appearances at the Telluride and New York Film Festivals. Now the next question is if it can carry the wave of positive response to the Oscars, where there is already talk of Aaron Sorkin being a lock for a nomination, if not a win, for Best Adapted Screenplay (his script is based on Walter Isaacson‘s acclaimed biography of the Apple titan). And today comes seven clips to give you a little preview of his crisp dialogue coupled with Danny Boyle‘s assured direction.

Michael Fassbender leads the movie as Steve Jobs, with Seth Rogen, Jeff Daniels, Katherine Waterston, Michael Stuhlbarg, and Kate Winslet, in support. To be certain, this isn’t a fawning portrayal of the Apple icon. Rather, it paints him as kind of an asshole who rode roughshod over everyone around him to see his vision realized. Meanwhile, the ensemble cast had a unique filming experience as they tackled Sorkin’s script.

“The way in which that film was shot was extraordinary… extraordinary,” Winslet told EW. “We have nine-minute takes, sometimes even longer. I think there’s a scene that Michael and Jeff had that was about 14 pages, so it really went for 11 minutes of continuous dialogue. It’s not unusual for an actor to learn huge passages of dialogue when you do a play. But it is unusual for an actor like Michael Fassbender to learn 182 pages of dialogue of which he’s on every page. It’s like ‘Hamlet,’ times two.”

“Steve Jobs” opens on October 16th. Watch seven new clips below, along with some TV spots and more.
