Hollywood will be taking a very close look at how “Veronica Mars” plays out. The Kickerstarter funded movie, with distribution backing from Warner Bros., is the first major test if niche audience fandom can translate into a mainstream success. The basic questions is whether or not the movie goer who didn’t watch the final episode of the TV show seven years ago, will care if the character is back in 2014? Well, the movie is going to bring audiences up to speed as much as possible.
The first two minutes of “Veronica Mars” have landed online and it’s a Cliff’s Notes of what you need to know heading into the film. It gives the basic background on Kristen Bell‘s titular character and introduces audiences to the “new me.” It’s decent enough encapsulation of what you need to know headed into the film, though obviously if you want to get all the references and in-jokes the movie will probably contain, you’ll want to marathon the show.
“Veronica Mars” arrives on March 14th.
