Shot earlier this year, we finally have a look at Martin Scorsese’s spot for Chanel’s fragrance for men, Bleu, starring Gaspard Ulliel (“Hannibal Rising,” “Paris Je T’Aime”) and if anything, it’s miles ahead of Frank Miller’s forgettable work for Gucci.
Sexy, interesting and boasting some great cinematography, the one minute advert finds Ulliel not having to stretch his acting muscles too far, playing a young actor who recalls a love affair in the midst of a press conference for a film. Is it just us or does the final piece of dialogue feel like something out of a lost Wes Anderson screenplay?
At any rate, check out the ad for yourself below. And yes, Scorsese has once again flipped through his Rolling Stones records; the song you’re hearing is “She Said Yeah” from “December’s Children (And Everybody’s)”.[Outlier]
Note the collapsed walls in the end is very similar to Paul Schraders' Mishima film. Part of the film here.
My guess is Ellen Kuras as DP, anyone know for sure?
"She Said Yeah"…great song by the great Larry Williams. The Beatles and the Stones both loved Larry Williams. The Fab Four covered his "Dizzy Miss Lizzie" and "Bad Boy," and Lennon later did "Boney Maronie". McCartney did his version of "She Said Yeah" on 1999's Run Devil Run album.
