With Entertainment One yet to make the call on when they’ll drop “Diana,” the Naomi Watts starring biopic about Diana Princess of Wales, the movie continues to ramp up for release overseas, and today brings with it another look at the movie, thanks to a new trailer.
This time, it’s Japan serving up the latest spot, which delivers a slate of new footage from the film to tell the tale of love threatened by fame. Directed by Oliver Hirschbiegel (“Downfall“), the movie will tell the story of the People’s Princess and her relationship with handsome Pakistani heart surgeon Dr. Hasnat Khan (Naveen Andrews), that eventually strains under pressure from the paparazzi and forces from within the royal family. Khan was considered by many to be the love of Diana’s life, and of course, one can only wonder what would’ve happened had they stayed together, and destiny not taken another more tragic course.
Again, no release date yet for this, but could we see this pop up next week in Telluride? It would certainly be a good place for the studio to test the critical waters before committing to an awards season campaign. [Bleeding Cool]
Definitely the best trailer so far with an impressive performance from Ms. Watts that's of an Oscar caliber without doubt. Expect a massive Oscar campaign for the actress and the film on the way.
I'm so looking foward to this! Defenitely the best trailer yet!
