With an all-star ensemble cast which includes Robert De Niro, Bradley Cooper, Edgar Ramirez, Elisabeth Rohm, Virginia Madsen, and more, the film is inspired by the Joy Mangano, the inventor of the Miracle Mop. And it looks like it has spurred Russell to tell a hard-scrabble rags-to-riches story.
"Joy" opens on Christmas Day.

This feels like it\’s going to be David O. Russell\’s and Jennifer Lawrence\’s best work. The stills give me like a "It\’s a wonderful life" meets "The Godfather" feel…Can\’t wait!
The stills from the film, especially the one with the old woman speaking the young Joy, all look iconic. The camera work is gorgeous. This may be DOR\’s year after all.
