We know it’s Halloween, you’re putting the finishing touches on your costume, and the last thing you want to do is think about the Oscar race. But for the studios, there’s not a moment to waste, and every minute counts if you want awards season gold. Today a new clip from the hotly buzzed "The Imitation Game" has arrived.
Directed by Morten Tyldum, and starring Benedict Cumberbatch and Keira Knightley, the film tells the true story of genius mathematician Alan Turing, who helped break the German Enigma code during World War II. But he didn’t do it entirely alone, with Knightley’s character also part of the team, and in this scene we see her impress the unflappable Turing.
We’ll see if this one has the legs for Oscar glory over the coming weeks and months, but for now check it out the clip and pics below, and watch "The Imitation Game" when it opens on November 21st.
Keira is one of the finest and most versatile actresses there are. Her performance in The Imitation Game was magnificent, just like her performance in Begin Again. I will be highly surprised if she is not nominated for major awards!
I think Keira has a lock on a Best Supporting Actress nomination this year, she\’s very strong in this role and it\’s exactly the kind of film the Academy likes to honor. She\’s also the kind of actress they want to be associated with: sterling reputation, versatile, expressive, hard worker, she\’s paid her dues and it\’s time she is rewarded.
