Juno Temple is very much the woman of the moment. Last weekend, she cropped up in "The Dark Knight Rises" — somewhat wasted, inarguably, but still there — and this weekend, she gives one of the most electric performances of the year in William Friedkin's "Killer Joe." And, as if to hammer home how much in the Zeitgeist the young British actress is right now, a trailer for her next film just arrived, in the shape of a promo from Magnolia Pictures for "Jack And Diane."
The film, the latest from "The Exploding Girl" director Bradley Rust Gray, stars Temple as Diane, who falls under the spell of another tough girl, Jack (Riley Keough). The two girls quickly end up in love. But Diane is meant to return to France for school in a few weeks, and Jack becomes distant as a result, leading to strange changes which take over Diane's body. Cara Seymour, Dane DeHaan and Kylie Minogue also star, and the film features animation from the legendary Brothers Quay, and music from Icelandic band múm, with some vocal contributions from Minogue.
We weren't, it should be said, overly impressed by the film when it premiered at Tribeca back in April, despite some strong performances and impressive contributions from the Brothers Quay, and we find the trailer a little odd; arrhythmic, and mostly avoiding the more fantastical aspects of the story, which seems a little curious. But take a look at the trailer below, and you'll be able to see what you think of the film when it hits theaters on November 2nd, courtesy of Magnolia Pictures.
Weirdly beautiful, like it a lot, though I'm not a L.
I get that they want to make the film look as artsy as possible but I can't imagine that this is going to get more attention than a trailer centered around lesbian werewolves would.
this looks intriguing.
Why?? Whaaat?
