"The red capes are coming, the red capes are coming," Jesse Eisenberg sneers in the new trailer for "Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice." While we have yet to see the abilities his version of Lex Luthor will demonstrate in the superhero flick, his stoner character Mike Howell from "American Ultra" might be able to hold his own against with the Man Of Steel.

Co-starring Kristen Stewart, the movie follows a slacker who discovers he’s actually a Jason Bourne-esque sleeper agent, and the government wants their little project shut down. But of course, he won’t go down with a fight. Here’s the official synopsis:
American Ultra is a fast-paced action comedy about Mike (Eisenberg), a seemingly hapless and unmotivated stoner whose small-town life with his live-in girlfriend, Phoebe (Stewart), is suddenly turned upside down. Unbeknownst to him, Mike is actually a highly trained, lethal sleeper agent. In the blink of an eye, as his secret past comes back to haunt him, Mike is thrust into the middle of a deadly government operation and is forced to summon his inner action-hero in order to survive.
Directed by Nima Nourizadeh ("Project X"), penned by Max Landis ("Chronicle"), and featuring Connie Britton, Topher Grace, Tony Hale, John Leguizamo, Bill Pullman and Walton Goggins, "American Ultra" opens on August 21st. Watch the new trailer and poster below [poster via Fandango]
max landis is a total ripoff artist. chronicle was a low-IQ Akira knock-off. his "mythical" james bond pitch was a word-for-word steal of a proposed 80\’s Bond movie, and this POS looks like long kiss goodnight sans the directing skills of renny harlin (never thought I\’d say that!)
*Adventureland
The girl who was too hot for him in Adventuretown is now cast as his girlfriend. Eisenberg\’s movin up in the world.
I\’ll tell you all of the reasons I\’m going to see it: 1) Love Jesse Eisenberg and Kristen Stewart.
2) Would rather see a comedic sleeper agent movie than another sequel, prequel, and/or superhero movie.
3) It looks funny and fun.
4) I like action.
5) I\’m not a man, a teenager, or any other stereotype and they\’re not stereotypical-looking action stars.
This looks like good, end-of -summer fun and I can\’t wait to see it.
Teen males who want to see something explode every five minutes and don\’t mind plotholes big enough to drive a truck through should flock to see this. Anyone could play these roles, it would be the same with Michael Cera and Teresa Palmer, maybe even better, since Palmer has range.
there\’s not much risk of anyone watching this
well then don´t watch it
this looks shit!
looks like something from 2005…
Really looking forward to this!
this looks great !!
