Has Ridley Scott been watching Michael Bay movies? We can’t remember the last time the veteran director delivered something this aesthetically slick and glossy, and it’s an interesting veneer to add to what sounds like a gritty as fuck crime pic. Strap in, because the first international teaser trailer for “The Counselor” is here.
It’s in Russian, so you’ll have to wait until the English version drops to hear any dialogue, but first impressions? Holy haircuts, Javier Bardem‘s in particular. And Cameron Diaz looks to be shaking any and all preconceived notions about what her talents are in what looks like a very atypical role. In case you forgot, this one is penned by none other than Cormac McCarthy, and features a ridiculously stacked cast including Michael Fassbender, Brad Pitt, Penelope Cruz, Cameron Diaz, Dean Norris, Rosie Perez, John Leguizamo, Natalie Dormer and Goran Visnjic in the tale of a lawyer who slips into the drug trade and finds himself way over his head.
Polish the Oscars? “The Counselor” arrives on November 15th. [O Zhizni via IMDB]
RIDLEY SCOTT MADE A TONY SCOTT MOVIE
It could readily be assumed that the look of this film has been conceived in the way of an homage towards his late brother. The screenplay is incredibly bleak and unforgiving, with the same trance-weaving, incantatory storytelling power of McCarthy's novels. I just pray that Scott's filmmaking does it justice.
LOOKS JUST LIKE A MICHAEL BAY MOVIE> LOOKS LIKE TRANSFORMERS
This looks almost too good to be true. Can't wait!
OMG Fassy looks hotter than ever, I will be first in line for this one. Didn't care if I could understand the Russian, pictures are worth a thousand words I understood ever bit of that trailer.
Not sure if everybody knows this, but the first several pages of the screenplay are available to read at the New Yorker website. Some minor spoilers, but it's an incredible sequence.
I have no idea what to make of this, but my butt will be in a theater seat for this uber-attractive cast. Also, thank you for that Fassbender screenshot. Stud.
Reservation for one.
Other than her roots showing like holy moly, it's hard to tell how this is an atypical role for Diaz. B/c she's climbing a car and wearing short dresses? Bad Teacher, been there done that.
Looks like a cross between Breaking Bad, Tarantino/Rodriguez, No Country for Old Men and a little bit of Oliver Stone's Savages… I'm interested.
Quit your griping folks and watch what's there. I cannot freakin' wait for this. McCarthy is my favourite living author and it looks like Ridley Scott may have done his work justice.
why the fuck couldnt you wait tyill the real trailer comes out like the fuck really
So freaking annoying when they pull trailers off the web, really pisses me off, what's with that? Do they want to sell their stupid film or do they want to frustrate potential audiences?
Video is private dipshits
