Got a Tip?

Watch: Honest Trailer For ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ Reboot Which Gets The Spirit Right, But Everything Else Wrong

Teenage Mutant Ninja TurtlesSometimes a studio will boast about something with no facts to back it up. In a recent Paramount press release, the studio touted that their “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” movie became the number one performing home entertainment title of 2014 based on the “highest ratio of disc sales to theatrical ticket sales for its first week of release.” How many units did it sell? What is that ratio? Compared to what exactly? The studio didn’t say of course, but it must be fact.

“The extraordinary performance of TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES is a testament to the wildly-entertaining re-launch of this beloved franchise and a major success for Paramount,” studio chiefs said in a statement intended for you to believe at face value.

One thing that’s hard to argue? Despite pretty mediocre reviews, the movie grossed $478 million worldwide and so far has earned more than “Interstellar” domestically ($191 million compared to $172 million). So yeah, a sequel is coming in 2016 and the movie has performed well despite skeptics. But hey, you and I know that….well, here Merry Christmas, watch the Honest Trailer for the movie below.
