Not surprisingly, two movies that didn’t make our 25 Most Memorable Moments In Superhero Movies ranking were 2005’s "Fantastic Four" and the 2007 sequel "Fantastic 4: Rise Of The Silver Surfer." With the franchise reboot dropping this week, the timing was perfect for Screen Junkies to revisit the two comic book efforts that were so poorly received that 20th Century Fox decided to start over from scratch.

Well, that’s not the only reason. As this video highlights, the studio also needs to keep using the characters or else the rights will revert back to Marvel. Either way, these two films basically had way too much fun with these anchors of the Marvel universe in a movie that was more cartoonish than comic-like. And mostly, they are poorly conceived, badly written and cheaply executed —say what you will about Josh Trank‘s upcoming effort, but it can’t be worse than this.
