Being in Canada, it’s been a bit harder to stay abreast of Amazon‘s programming outside of "Transparent" mostly because it’s not easily available here. For example, I really want to see "Red Oaks" but as far as I know, it’s still not legally available north of the border. And so, Netflix becomes the default, but the stack of Amazon shows I need to keep an eye out for just got a little bit bigger. "The Man In The High Castle" is coming, and it looks very promising.
The adaptation of Philip K. Dick‘s novel rewrites history and imagines a world where the Allies lost World War II. And so, the United States becomes divided among the Axis powers, with Japan presiding over the Pacific States of America, the Nazi Reich overseeing the eastern half of the United States, while in the middle is the neutral Rocky Mountain States. It’s a great backdrop against which to set a drama, and this one certainly looks intriguing.
"The Man In The High Castle" starts streaming on November 20th. Watch below.
